Guardians Chapter

The Guardians' Chapter represents The Glenlivet's experiment in collaborative whisky-making: rather than releasing a single expression, the distillery created three different samples and let members of their Guardians community vote on which they preferred. The winning bottling was matured in a combination of ex-American and ex-sherry oak, then bottled at 48.7% ABV.

The dual-cask approach yields a whisky with genuine layering. The nose opens with dried fruit—plum, apricot, raisin—alongside milk chocolate, orange peel, and a hint of sherry warmth. The palate is thick and sweet, with toffee, fudge, and honey, tempered by ginger spice and dried fruit. The finish turns drier, with fruity notes and oak tannins that linger without harshness.

At cask strength, this whisky rewards a splash of water, which opens up its complexity. It's a Speyside that steps beyond the distillery's standard house style—less floral finesse, more richness and oak-driven structure. A genuine bottling for those who want substance over polish.
