Black Ruby

Johnnie Walker Black Ruby is the first major innovation added to the core range in years, crafted by Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker's Master Blender since 2022. Her vision was clear: to create a whisky that challenges outdated perceptions that Scotch is only for seasoned drinkers. Black Ruby builds on the DNA of the iconic Black Label, but feels softer, fruitier, and more approachable.

At its heart lie whiskies matured in first-fill red wine casks (PX/Oloroso) from Roseisle Distillery, complemented by whiskies from other Scottish distilleries and ex-bourbon casks. This combination delivers a luscious blend of red berries, honey, and subtle spice.

In the glass, a deep ruby hue reveals itself with vibrant fruit character. On the palate, red berries and plums meld with honeyed sweetness and rich fig notes, enhanced by a faint smoky undertone. The finish is silky and persistent, emphasizing the fruity and sweet elements that define this modern classic.
