Elgin 2008
Glen Elgin, founded in 1898, remains one of Speyside's unsung distilleries. This Collective 6.0 bottling from 2008 — aged 14 years and released at 48% ABV — is an independent expression that captures the distillery's understated character.
The nose reveals incense, pink pepper, and sandalwood, with citrus and candied apricot emerging beneath. The palate turns lively and ethereal: guava and mango meld with floral notes of lilac and lavender, supported by heather honey and a whisper of chocolate. The finish stretches long and calm, offering cookies, salted caramel, and warming spices of cinnamon and clove.
