Black Art began in 2012 as a creative venture by legendary Head Distiller Jim McEwan. The concept emerged from a desire to revive old stock maturing in Bruichladdich's warehouses—whisky aged in less-than-ideal casks, recasked into carefully selected vessels. Since then, Black Art has evolved into a mysterious annual release, with only McEwan (and now his successor Adam Hannett) knowing the precise composition and cask origins.

This 10.1 edition is a 29-year-old unpeated Islay, its cask blend a closely guarded secret. Tasters have detected traces of wine and sherry maturation, explaining the fruit-forward character on nose and palate.
