2008 Distillery Exclusive Single Cask

Millstone 2016 PX Cask
Glen Moray was born in 1897 from the West Brewery in Elgin, which had brewed local ales since 1830. The name draws from the valley of Moray, the heart of Speyside. The Elgin Classic serves as the gateway to Glen Moray's range — a whisky that presents the distillery's light, fruity character without pretense.
This bottling is matured entirely in American oak (ex-bourbon casks), explaining its soft, approachable profile. The 68% ABV is unusually high for a Classic expression, suggesting either a cask strength release or limited variant.
On the nose, honey and fresh green apple emerge, with brown sugar and vanilla underneath. The palate delivers malty toffee, citrus brightness, and subtle nuttiness, rounded out by gentle spice — ginger and nutmeg. The finish remains warm and comforting, without harshness.
This is whisky without flourish — honest, light, and easy-drinking. An effective introduction to Speyside single malts.
