Famous Grouse Famous One

The Famous Grouse was founded in 1896 by Matthew Gloag III in Perth and grew to become Scotland's best-selling blended Scotch whisky. The brand takes its name from the grouse logo adopted in the early twentieth century — an emblem that has remained its signature ever since. The original recipe, created by Gloag himself, has remained largely unchanged, a testament to the confidence in its foundational blend.

The Famous One is matured partly in American oak sherry casks, adding richness to the blend. At 40% ABV, it delivers an approachable yet balanced whisky.

On the nose, a light amber spirit reveals aromas of dried fruit, soft malt, and toffee, supported by hints of citrus and subtle spice. The palate is malty and sweet, with prominent notes of caramel, raisins, and sultanas, complemented by pepper and spice. The finish is relatively short but lingers with peppery warmth.
