Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh MacAskill on the Isle of Skye, named after his estate overlooking Loch Harport. This Distillery Exclusive Bottling offers rare access to the distillery's unfiltered, natural character — matured in ex-bourbon and refill casks, bottled at 48% ABV without added colour.
The interplay of American and European oak creates a whisky with both refinement and presence. This is no filtered compromise, but the full expression of what Talisker achieves on Skye's rugged shores.
The nose reveals smoked malt, caramel, and citrus — candied lemon peel and squeezed orange sit alongside salted caramel and dark chocolate. The palate is sweeter and rounder than the nose suggests, with vanilla, white pepper, and a smoky, saline finish that anchors the distillery's peaty, maritime identity. This is Talisker unadorned: bold, layered, and utterly itself.
