21 Years Old 0,70 ltr 46%
Glen Scotia, founded in 1832 in Campbeltown, Scotland's maritime whisky heartland, has released this 21-year-old as a key addition to its core range—bridging the gap between its 18- and 25-year-old expressions. Master distiller Iain McAlister deliberately chose a shorter Oloroso finish (six months) compared to the 18-year-old, allowing the distillery's distinctive character to remain prominent rather than be overtaken by sherry influence.
Matured initially in refill bourbon barrels and American oak hogsheads, the spirit then spent six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, introducing dried fruit and sherry notes while respecting the core Campbeltown profile.
On the nose, ripe apple and peach lead; the palate brings baked red apple, raisins, anise, and cinnamon, with creamy vanilla and caramel providing body. The finish is long and layered—a subtle maritime salinity and dry sherry edge round out the experience. This is a whisky that demonstrates how Campbeltown's traditional craft and maritime setting shape its spirit.
