Arran's Lochranza distillery, founded in 1994 by Harold Currie (former Chivas director), began production in 1995 and released its first bottlings in 2001. This Single Cask expression captures the craftsmanship of the Isle of Arran distillery, located in Scotland's Islands region.
The spirit matures in ex-bourbon casks before finishing in port casks sourced from artisan producers. This cask regime imparts the whisky's full body and distinctive sweetness, balancing the spirit's natural character with wine-cask influence.
On the nose, vanilla, apple, and hazelnut emerge alongside a whisper of salt. The palate brings pear and green apple to the fore, supported by a malty backbone. The finish lingers with warm fruit and vanilla notes, a testament to the port cask's contribution.
