Arran 2015 Small Batch

12 Years
Edition No. 2 is a rare collaboration between The Macallan's master blender Bob Delgarno and the three Roca brothers—Joan, Josep, and Jordi—of the acclaimed Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. This unusual partnership produced a whisky reflecting culinary precision: Joan Roca, the executive chef, hand-selected Diego Martín casks in first and second fill, combining American and European oak for their rich green wood character and toffee depth.
The composition reflects The Macallan's core philosophy—an obsession with oak that has defined the distillery since Alexander Reid founded it in 1824. The Diego Martín casks introduce an unexpected dimension to traditional sherry maturation, pushing the whisky beyond classic Macallan territory.
On the nose: sherry-soaked raisins and figs, toffee apples, and hints of ginger and orange zest. The palate is full and silky, with pronounced oak influence, dark stone fruits, and sweet tobacco. The finish is medium length, lingering with wood and coffee bitterness. This is Macallan for those willing to venture beyond the expected.
