Té Bheag
Té Bheag — pronounced 'chey-vek' — is Gaelic for 'wee dram' and takes its name from the boat featured in Pràban na Linne's logo. The company was founded in 1976 by Sir Iain Noble, a champion of the Gaelic language and founder of the Edinburgh merchant bank Noble Grossart. Bottled on the Isle of Skye, this blend combines an unusually high malt content (40%) with grain whisky, drawing malts from Islay, Highland, and Speyside regions.
The blend includes confirmed Talisker malt from Skye itself, bolstered by peated malt from Islay. This composition strikes a distinctive balance between smoky peatiness and maritime sweetness. At 40% ABV, it remains approachable without thinning out.
The nose opens with toffee, caramel, and honey, touched by ginger and apple. On the palate, smoky notes weave through sherried sweetness and salted caramel—reminiscent of Highland Park in character. The finish turns oily and substantial, with pronounced peat and brine that echo the coastal location of its bottler.
