Four Roses began in 1888 when Paul Jones Jr., a Civil War veteran from Virginia, relocated his grocery business from Atlanta to Louisville, Kentucky. The brand's name carries a love story: Jones proposed to a young woman and gave her four roses as a symbol of his devotion. When she pinned four roses to her dress to signal acceptance, the bourbon's iconic name was sealed.

Four Roses distinguishes itself through an uncommon approach: two mash bills combined with five proprietary yeast strains yield ten distinct bourbon recipes. This flexibility allows the distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to craft consistent, nuanced spirits. The bourbon matures in American white oak barrels, building the foundation of sweetness and fruit that defines the brand.
