Western Gold Straight Old Kentucky

Noah's Mill
Basil Hayden's takes its name from a pioneer of early bourbon history: Basil Hayden Sr., a grain farmer turned distiller renowned for using an unusually high proportion of rye in his mash bill. In 1992, Beam Suntory introduced this bourbon under the direction of Frederick "Booker" Noe, the sixth-generation Jim Beam Master Distiller, following a recipe rooted in Hayden's original formula.
This is a high-rye bourbon, with 27% rye in the mash bill — considerably more than most bourbons. That rye defines the whisky's distinctive spicy character and contributes to its lighter body.
The nose opens with spice, hints of peppermint and tea, layered with vanilla and caramel undertones. On the palate, rye spice leads, tempered by honey notes and soft toffee, with a light, delicate mouthfeel. The finish is dry and clean, without lingering sweetness. This is a bourbon that doesn't announce itself loudly—rather, a restrained, approachable dram that holds onto its spicy edge without aggression.
