Velvet Fig

Wemyss Malts, the Fife-based blender, names each of its single malts after its natural flavour profile—and Velvet Fig follows suit. This 25-year-old blended malt draws from carefully selected Highland and Speyside distilleries, all matured exclusively in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The name captures the whisky's soft, fruit-forward character.

The blend is composed with precision: five casks of 1994 vintage form the foundation, supplemented with older stock for depth and complexity. The result is a whisky that balances fresh fruit with rich sherry influence—sultanas, Medjool dates, and soft fig notes dominate, bound by warm leather and honeyed undertones.

On the palate, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a dry, gripping sherry structure emerge. The finish extends medium to long, with dried fruit and clean oak texture that leaves a warm yet controlled impression.
