Glenturret is Scotland's oldest working distillery, established in 1763. In 2018 it was acquired by French luxury goods company Lalique, who redesigned the core range in 2020—including this elegant decanter, crafted by Lalique themselves. The Triple Wood takes its name from three types of oak: American and European casks previously seasoned with sherry, combined with ex-bourbon barrels. This triple-wood maturation creates the whisky's layered character.
The nose reveals creamy bourbon vanilla and tropical fruit, supported by subtle wood notes. On the palate, a smooth texture carries oak spices from the European oak, red apple, and gentle tannins. The finish builds with wood, vanilla, fudge, and nutmeg—warming and slowly fading without harsh astringency. This is an approachable single malt that feels mature despite carrying no age statement.
