Hankey Bannister was established in 1757 by two London merchants: Beaumont Hankey, a man of society and distinction, and Hugh Bannister, an astute businessman. What began as a wine and spirits merchant house evolved into a respected blended Scotch whisky producer. That heritage of over two centuries anchors every bottle.
Hankey Bannister Original blends the finest Lowland grain whiskies with Highland and Speyside malts. Distilled without peat smoke, it produces a light, clean spirit. The blend matures in oak casks for a minimum of three years, developing a soft, approachable character.
In the glass, creamy toffee and golden hues invite the nose. Aromas of malt, vanilla, and toffee emerge, layered with subtle spice that adds depth. On the palate, sweetness leads with toffee and honey, giving way to cereal grain and wood spice on the finish. The aftertaste lingers pleasantly — sweet, balanced, and dry.
This is a whisky that speaks through refinement rather than intensity — a straightforward, well-composed blend for those who value accessibility and balance.
