A'Bunadh Batch 47

1996
The Glendronach 18 Years Allardice is named after James Allardice, the founder who established the distillery in 1826 in the Valley of Forgue. This sherried single malt stands as a tribute to his legacy and reflects the complex character that emerges from decades of maturation in Spanish sherry casks.
Matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks from Andalucía, this non-chill-filtered single malt develops full body and layered complexity without excess sweetness. The traditional sherry wood imparts richness while respecting the underlying spirit.
On the palate, dried fruits—raisins and dates—emerge alongside warm spices such as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Subtle notes of chocolate and cocoa balance the fruitiness, while the finish remains silky and persistent, letting the interplay between sherry influence and spirit character linger naturally.
