Cask Strength

Tomatin, Gaelic for 'Hill of the Juniper Bush', was founded in 1897 and once stood as Scotland's largest malt distillery. The Cask Strength expression showcases the distillery's signature soft, fruity Highland character at full proof—bottled at 57.5% ABV to reveal its complete complexity without dilution.

Matured in a marriage of first-fill ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, this whisky balances the gentle wood influence of bourbon with the richer, darker notes that sherry casks impart. The result is neither a bourbon-forward nor a sherry-bomb whisky, but something more nuanced.

On the nose: malt, vanilla, and honey meld with citrus (orange, pear), walnuts, and ginger biscuit spice. The palate deepens with fudge, dark stewed fruits, nutmeg, cinnamon, and espresso notes. The finish runs long and sweet, with lingering spice.

A changeable whisky that rewards exploration—fruity and complex, avoiding easy categorisation.
