Vault Edition No. 1

Vault Edition No. 1 is the first in a four-part series dedicated to Bowmore's legendary No. 1 Vaults—Scotland's oldest maturation warehouse. These stone vaults have aged single malt for decades and sit at the heart of Bowmore's story since its founding in 1779. This inaugural release specifically highlights the distinctive Atlantic sea salt notes that develop within these unique maturation conditions.

The whisky matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at cask strength (51.5%), preserving the full texture and complexity built during aging without dilution.

On the nose, fruity character emerges—ripe summer fruit, blood orange—supported by vanilla and honey from the ex-bourbon wood. The peat is restrained for Islay, leaning marine rather than smoky, with a pleasant saline-spicy edge. The palate brings citrus and cocoa notes, while the finish reveals sea salt, bramble, and kumquat—a clear echo of the No. 1 Vaults themselves.
