The Glengoyne 30 Years Old is an exceptional single malt whisky that has been aged for up to 30 years in meticulously selected ex-sherry casks. First released as a limited edition in November 2017, this whisky embodies the elegant and refined characteristics for which Glengoyne is renowned. It is a delightful dram that takes its time to reveal its complex layers, a true testament to the craftsmanship of the distillery in the Highlands of Scotland. Upon tasting, the senses are treated to a rich symphony of flavors. The nose offers an abundance of sherry tones, dark cherries, plum jam, with hints of tea and rum-raisin chocolate. The palate is thick and syrupy, yet not sticky, with plenty of dark notes such as walnuts and roasted peanuts, combined with warming spices like cinnamon and cloves. The long finish is sweet and lingers with notes of plum compote and orange marmalade. This whisky is perfect to enjoy neat, allowing the rich flavors to unfold fully. For a special experience, it can also be paired with dark chocolate or a rich fruitcake.
