Living Souls 40 Years Refill Sherry Butt

Johnnie Walker
Johnnie Walker Red Label
Johnnie Walker Red Label traces its story to 1820, when grocer John Walker in Kilmarnock, Scotland, noticed that whisky from different barrels tasted different. Rather than accept that inconsistency, he began blending — combining multiple malts and grains to create something uniform. That simple act of standardization became the template for modern blended Scotch, and Red Label itself became the world's best-selling Scotch since 1945.
Originally crafted to be mixed with soda, Red Label draws from up to 35 whiskies sourced across Scotland's regions. It is a blend designed for accessibility and consistency rather than complexity — a working whisky for everyday occasions.
The colour is coppered gold. On the nose, light smoke mingles with malt sweetness, heather honey, and occasional tropical notes of banana and pineapple. The palate is thin but direct: honey, faint roasted coffee, a whisper of cinnamon, leading to a clean, brief finish with hints of buttered toast and oak.
This is not a whisky that demands contemplation. It delivers straightforward character at a price that makes it effortless — whether neat with water, over ice, or mixed into a long drink.
