Famous Grouse The Black Grouse Alpha Edition

J&B J.E.T
The Whistler takes its name from Pat Cooney, the original whistler at Boann Distillery, whose tunes still echo through the distillery walls. Boann itself is named after the Irish goddess who, legend has it, created the River Boyne. This 7-year-old blended Irish whiskey is a triple-distilled blend of single pot still, single malt, and single grain—a combination that defines modern Irish craft.
The recipe is 65% grain and 35% malt, initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before a 9-month finish in Oloroso sherry. This two-stage cask journey builds a whiskey that balances sweetness with spice without leaning too heavily either way.
On the nose, vanilla and toffee emerge first, followed by almond and orchard fruit. The palate opens mellow, revealing cinnamon, cloves, and toasted spice, with burnt marshmallow creaminess and darker chocolate notes developing as it opens. The finish is clean and warming, with lingering spice.
