Ballantine's traces its roots to 1827, when George Ballantine opened a grocery shop in Edinburgh and began stocking Scotch whiskies alongside fresh produce. From that modest beginning grew one of the world's best-selling blended Scotch brands. A royal warrant in 1895 marked the company's ascent, and the 12 Year Old—introduced in 1964—became the entry point to the premium range, collecting accolades ever since.
This 12 Year Old blends roughly fifty single malts and four grain whiskies from Scotland's leading regions. Miltonduff and Glenburgie form the foundation, complemented by selections from Speyside and beyond. The blend is assembled and bottled in Dumbarton at 40% ABV.
