Named after James Allardice, the founding partner who established Glendronach in 1826 alongside local farmers, this 18-year-old carries the distillery's founding philosophy. Glendronach was among Scotland's first licensed distilleries, and Allardice's pursuit of quality remains central to its identity.
Matured entirely in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, the Allardice is bottled without chill filtration or added colour, preserving its natural depth. This commitment to minimal intervention reflects the distillery's character.
The nose reveals deep sherry sweetness layered with dried fruit—cherries and prunes—alongside cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. The palate is dense and buttery, with sherry richness interwoven with red wine notes, cocoa, and warming spices. The finish is substantial and lingering, the sherry sweetness gradually giving way to spice.
