Wieser UUAHOUUA Wiesky
Wieser's Uuahouua is an Austrian single malt from the Wachau Valley, where the Wieser family has long roots in fruit production. The name—sounding like a yodel after a few beers—reflects the playful, unconventional spirit of this small distillery. This seven-year-old whisky matured in sherry casks, acquiring subtle red wine character without overwhelming the spirit.
The nose reveals honey, sweet grain, and orange, with buttery and spicy undertones. On the palate it arrives thin—the 40% ABV is noticeable—but brings winey qualities and vanilla forward, with banana as the dominant note. The finish remains restrained, lacking depth.
This is no bombastic whisky, but rather an experimental, modest attempt by a small Austrian producer. For those curious about world single malts and unafraid of unusual names and unpolished character.
