Bruichladdich's Islay Barley programme brings terroir thinking to whisky: grain from eight local farms within an 11-mile radius of the distillery, all fully traceable to their fields. This 2014 vintage proves you can see—and taste—where whisky comes from.

The cask composition is deliberately mixed: 80% first fill ex-bourbon, joined by 5% ex-sherry butts and 15% ex-wine casks. At 50% ABV, the whisky remains forceful without artificial dilution. The result is oily and saline on the palate, built on a cereal base of digestive biscuit and dried hay.
