Sherry Cask Selection

25 Years
a'bunadh Batch 77
A'bunadh means 'the origin' in Gaelic, and this whisky honours Aberlour's traditional craft. Launched in the late 1990s as a pioneer, it was regarded as a curiosity at the time — a cask strength sherry whisky before that became fashionable. Each batch is hand-made from start to finish, with no chill-filtering or added colour, which explains the character variation between releases.
Batch 77 is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks, delivering a dark, complex profile. At 60.8% ABV, this expression needs no water to reveal its power.
The nose reveals layers: dark fruit, raisins, prunes, dates and figs, followed by dark chocolate, caramel and mocha. On the palate, sherry dominates — sweet cherry, dry red wine, ginger and spiced oak. The finish is long and warming, with hints of clove and oak.
This is a whisky for those who embrace intensity. A'bunadh demands attention and rewards it with depth.
