James Fleming established the Aberlour Distillery in 1879 at the confluence of the Lour Burn and River Spey, drawing water from St. Drostan's Well, named after an early Columban monk. This Speyside location became home to a distillery renowned for its dual-cask maturation approach.

This expression matures in both American oak and sherry casks—Aberlour's signature technique. Bottled at 61.1% ABV, it delivers more structure and intensity than the distillery's standard releases, allowing the complexity of both cask types to assert itself clearly.

On the nose, red apples, honey, and dried fruits emerge alongside vanilla and toffee. The palate is soft yet present, with pronounced fruit character and a warmth born from the elevated strength. The finish turns dry and peppery, creating counterpoint to the sweeter sherry-cask notes.
