Filey Bay Flagship

4.8 out of 5 (1 review)

Filey Bay Flagship is Yorkshire's first single malt whisky — and it's made entirely from the ground up by two friends and farmers. Tom Mellor and David Thompson built Spirit of Yorkshire on Mellor's farm near Hunmanby, on the Yorkshire coast, where they grow their own barley and draw water from the same land. Every step, from field to bottle, stays in-house: no shortcuts, no bought-in spirit.

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, the Flagship is light and creamy with tropical fruit notes — peach and pineapple stand out — layered with vanilla and honey. White pepper and French oak add spice and refinement without weight. It's not a complex dram, but rather an honest reflection of what local grain and coastal air can yield.
