Baker's was created in 1992 by Booker Noe, sixth-generation Master Distiller at Jim Beam, to honor his cousin Baker Beam—a distiller at the legendary Clermont facility known for his maverick approach to bourbon. The brand carries forward that legacy with a distinctive mash bill of 77% corn, 13% rye, and 10% malted barley.
Bottled at 53.5% ABV straight from the barrel, this single barrel bourbon pulls no punches. Maturation in new American oak gives it a full, angular structure with prominent wood character throughout.
On the nose: sweet caramel, vanilla, and apple, anchored by that signature Jim Beam peanut dust. The palate shows toasted oak, almonds, and raw peanuts alongside honeyed sweetness and brown sugar. The finish is robust and warming—drying oak and dusty peanut brittle give way to candied brown sugar, with a lingering spice that keeps it honest.
