Born in Soni Village, a region steeped in Japan's cultural heritage, the brand has distinguished itself from the start through an unconventional choice: finishing in Japanese cedar wood (Yoshino Sugi). While most distilleries cleave to traditional casks, Kamiki commits to the intensity of cedar — a rare approach that makes this whisky instantly recognizable.

This Intense Wood expression is aged longer in cedar than Kamiki's core range, which explains why the nose is immediately dominated by that characteristic cedar, mingled with spices like cloves and black pepper. On the palate, flavours explode: toasted tobacco, sweet cinnamon, dried fruit and citrus, with cedar threading through. The finish is smoky and lingers.
