Whyte & Mackay traces its origins to 1844, when James Whyte managed Allan & Poynter, a Glasgow-based trading house. In 1882, Charles Mackay and James Whyte formally established their company as whisky merchants and bonded warehousemen. Glasgow remains the international headquarters of this historic firm.
This blended Scotch combines 41 different malt and grain whiskies, drawn chiefly from the Highlands and Speyside. The blend's signature character emerges from a triple maturation process: malts age separately before being married together in ex-sherry casks. This sherry marriage creates a characteristically soft and well-rounded spirit.
