Talisker 57° North is a powerful single malt from the Islands, named after the latitude line running through the distillery on the Isle of Skye. Bottled at cask strength, this expression delivers an uncompromising Talisker character, balancing intense smoke with surprising sweetness and depth. The nose is immediately dominated by full peat with meaty, almost chewy smoke. Burnt wood, leather, and briny ocean waves create a distinctly maritime profile. On the palate, a thin sweet entry quickly gives way to a full blast of peat and pepper. Despite its formidable 57% ABV, the whisky drinks remarkably smoothly, revealing fruity sweetness, vibrant citrus notes, honey, ginger, and smooth nuts that shine through the volcanic smoke.
