Mizunara

Chivas Regal Mizunara emerged from Master Blender Colin Scott's journey to Japan, where he encountered the rare Japanese Mizunara oak. This porous wood, traditionally used in Japanese spirit production, offered a fresh perspective on the classic Chivas blend. A portion of the whisky matured in these Mizunara casks—an ambitious experiment bringing two whisky traditions together.

The blend balances delicacy with refinement. The nose opens with floral notes—apple blossom and almond—alongside toffee and citrus, feeling gentle and inviting. The palate follows with spiced toffee, sweet grain, and dried apricot, though the mid-palate leans toward lightness. The finish remains soft and approachable.

This is a whisky for those willing to explore beyond convention—not a typical Speyside expression, but a deliberate fusion of Scottish craftsmanship and Japanese influence. Mizunara delivers something distinctly different from what Chivas Regal usually offers.
