Starward Two-Fold blends two grain spirits—malted barley and Australian wheat—each matured separately in red wine casks before being brought together. Founder David Vitale established Starward in 2008 in Melbourne, positioning the distillery to access wine casks from nearby regions. The interplay between barley's depth and wheat's aromatic, drying character forms the core of the expression.

Maturation in red wine barrels shapes Two-Fold's profile. The nose reveals plum, dried apricot, and honey, while the palate unfolds with soft vanilla and coffee notes. The wine cask influence introduces red fruit and an earthy undertone, keeping the whisky balanced and approachable rather than heavy.
