6 Years Single Cask Vinho Str

Armorik became France's first single malt whisky when it launched in 1998 from Distillerie Warenghem in Brittany — a region that shares cultural roots with Scotland and Ireland. This limited single cask release breaks from the distillery's usual practice of maturing in new and refilled Breton oak. Instead, the spirit spent six years in a Portuguese wine cask rejuvenated through the STR process (Shaving, Toasting, Re-charring), imparting intensely complex fruit-driven character.

The cask has left its mark clearly. The nose brings together fruit and oak with citrus edges. The palate opens soft, with caramel and banana, then reveals faint smoke and peanut brittle notes. The finish is warm and lingering, carrying the concentrated intensity this particular cask has delivered to the spirit.
