Old Perth Cask Strength

Old Perth traces its roots to Peter Thomson, a Perth grocer who began blending whisky in the early twentieth century. Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers honours that legacy with this release, a nod to Perth's place in whisky history. This Cask Strength expression contains only sherry-cask malts — no grain, no dilution.

Matured entirely in sherry casks, the whisky reaches bottle at natural strength (58.6%), delivering the full texture and intensity of selected malts without reduction. This is blending on its own terms: sherry wood has done the heavy lifting.

The nose offers milk chocolate, dates, hazelnut and dried red fruits, layered with vanilla and brown sugar. The palate is thick and syrupy, with robust ginger and cinnamon spice, leather and a dry, grainy undertone. The finish lingers warm and sustained.

This is straightforward, unpretentious drinking — not a puzzle to solve, but a solid sherried dram that rewards a winter evening or a casual session.
