Daniel Szor, a New York–born finance veteran, moved to the Cotswolds in 2014 to build a distillery on his own terms. Working with locally malted barley and a philosophy of craft-first production, Cotswolds has quietly become one of England's most compelling young producers. This 2016 vintage spent six years in Oloroso cask and was released as a Germany-exclusive single cask, bottled at full proof.
Oloroso maturation delivers weight and complexity to a whisky this young. At 59.9% ABV, the cask's influence is unmissable: dark red fruit, almond and spice, balanced by a drying oakiness that cuts through the inherent sweetness of the wood.
A bottling that demonstrates what English distilling can achieve when given time and proper cask—no apology for its youth, no pretence of age-statement prestige. Honest and direct.
