Big Peat is an award-winning Islay Blended Malt crafted by independent bottler Douglas Laing, drawing from some of the island's most respected distilleries. This 15th Anniversary expression celebrates a decade and a half of distinctive, smoky character with a special red wine cask finish. The result is a balanced blend that marries Islay's intense, medicinal peat smoke with fruity and chocolatey nuances derived from its wine cask maturation.

The nose opens with robust smoke and coastal notes, revealing dried seaweed, smoked lemon, and roasted nuts. The palate is immediately intense, delivering toffee, dark chocolate, and subtle nuttiness, complemented by the red wine finish's contribution of berry and baking spice notes. The finish lingers long and dry, with peaty smoke gradually giving way to warming vanilla and pleasant oak warmth, making it a satisfying daily dram.
