2016 Bannow Island Edition 1.1
The Spirit Of The City The Dubliner Irish
The Dubliner is rooted in the Liberties, Dublin's historic district, and carries the name 'Spirit of the City' because it embodies the rebellious, forward-looking character of modern Ireland. This is the work of Dublin Liberties Distillery, a producer steeped in a neighbourhood that spans over a thousand years of history.
The blend marries single malt and grain whiskeys, each matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks individually selected for blending. That bourbon-cask foundation gives the whiskey its golden hue and soft structure—clean and approachable, without the weight that sherry would impose.
On the nose: honey and vanilla, with gentle orchard-fruit undertones. The palate is mellow and malty, toffee and pepper trading places. The finish stays sweet and mild, with a whisper of spice that catches you by surprise. This is a whiskey built to drink easily—not demanding complexity, but honest and well-made.
