Arran Quarter Cask, affectionately known as 'The Bothy,' captures the intensity of maturation in small oak vessels. After seven years in ex-bourbon casks, the spirit is finished for two years in American oak quarter casks (125 litres), a technique that amplifies tropical fruit character and sharpens the overall profile compared to Arran's 10-year-old core expression.
Bottled at cask strength (56.2% ABV), this is an uncompromising dram. The smaller cask format accelerates oak contact and oxidation, creating a whisky that feels simultaneously youthful and mature — vibrant and fruity, yet structured and warming.
The nose leads with citrus oils (orange, lemon) softened by honey and vanilla. The palate delivers full mouthfeel: tropical fruits, almond, and peppery spice create a visceral experience. The finish lingers with coconut and vanilla fading slowly. Time and a touch of water are kind to this one — the heat settles, and the complexity deepens.

Fantastic whisky. No smoke but a very pleasant aftertaste with a touch of sweetness
