Karaktär Carl Hamilton

Mackmyra, founded in 1999, was Sweden's first modern whisky distillery. For Karaktär Carl Hamilton, the producer partnered in 2011 with author Jan Guillou, whose acclaimed spy thriller series centres on the fictional MUST agent Carl Hamilton. The whisky takes its name from this Cold War-era character and has become a sought-after collector's piece.

This limited edition matured in multiple casks, reflecting Mackmyra's commitment to local ingredients and craft production. The multi-cask approach yielded a spicy and fruity profile with notes of smoke and oak.

On the nose, vanilla and caramel emerge, followed by ginger and spice on the palate. The finish is elegant and layered—fitting for the celebrated spy who inspired the bottle.
