Rye
Jack Daniel's released its first rye whiskey in 2019, breaking 150 years of tradition. Master Distiller Jeff Arnett crafted a bold new recipe: 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley—a departure from the brand's established formula. Single Barrel Rye comes from barrels aged in the upper floors of Lynchburg's warehouses, where extreme temperature swings intensify the spirit's character.
Before maturation, this Tennessee whiskey undergoes the famous Lincoln County Process, filtered through sugar maple charcoal before entering charred American oak. The result is full-bodied and distinctly spicy.
The nose reveals honey and caramel, with undertones of toasted oak. The palate brings cinnamon and vanilla, finishing with black pepper and nutty warmth. This is a rye for those seeking something beyond the typical bourbon playbook—complex, unapologetic, and unafraid of spice.
