The Singleton was established by Diageo in 2006 as an accessible entry point to single malt whisky—a brand deliberately positioned against the traditional, sometimes stuffy world of Speyside. This 14-year-old Special Release 2023 hails from Glendullan, one of Dufftown's seven distilleries, and was finished in French Burgundy oak casks (Chardonnay), adding a refined wine dimension.

Fourteen years of maturation combined with French oak finishing defines this whisky's character. At 55% ABV and non-chill-filtered, the full texture shines through—no dilution, just genuine body and weight.

The glass reveals golden apples, pears, and apricots, with subtle butter and honey undertones. On the palate, it is light and juicy, with yellow fruit dominating throughout, though the finish shortens and alcohol gradually emerges. A whisky that truly opens up with a splash of water—that removes the peppery edge and lets the fruit sweetness fully express itself.
