Tailored

Nikka Tailored is the long-awaited successor to Nikka 12, a blended whisky that proves Japanese blenders can chart their own course. The concept is 'tailor-made': Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, envisioned Japanese people drinking authentic whisky. More than 90 years later, Nikka realizes that dream by marrying the two characters of its distilleries.

The blend draws primarily from malt whisky produced at Yoichi (on Hokkaido) and Miyagikyo (on Honshu), balanced with grain whisky from the Coffey Still. That combination yields something rare: a rich, malty foundation with the soft, creamy texture that only grain whisky can deliver.

On the nose, bright fruits emerge — apple, apricot, and honey — with subtle undertones of vanilla and chocolate. The palate is smooth and round, offering toffee and a whisper of pepper that lends just enough structure. The finish fades gently into soft malt and vanilla oak — no flourish, but honest craftsmanship.
