Millstone 100

Zuidam began in 1975 as a family venture founded by Fred van Zuidam in Baarle-Nassau, initially focused on liqueurs and genever. Millstone is their whisky brand, and the 100 Rye is a statement of intent: 100% rye, 100 months of maturation, 100 proof (50% ABV). This is Dutch rye whisky without compromise.

Rye is the foundation. Unlike Canadian and American rye whisky, which often contain only a portion of rye, Millstone 100 is made entirely from rye. After eight years in new charred American oak casks, it gains structure and depth. The sherry influence adds richness and complexity.

On the nose: honeyed sweetness with citrus and spice—orange, nutmeg, cardamom, fennel. The palate brings fruit forward (raisins, passion fruit), hazelnut and chocolate. The finish is long, peppery, with vanilla and oak tannins that linger. This is not a delicate single malt; it is robust and warming.
