Elements 2.0

Elements 2.0 is the second release in Laphroaig's experimental Elements series, launched in 2023 as a deliberate exploration of fermentation's role in shaping the distillery's character. Bottled non-chill filtered and at cask strength (59.6%), without an age statement, it retains its raw, unpolished nature.

Matured in first fill bourbon casks, the whisky prioritises fruit expression over the weight of sherry maturation. This is not a conventional Laphroaig expression—it's a working laboratory, where fermentation takes centre stage rather than cask treatment.

On the nose, smoke and fruit unfold with equal presence: cherry, apple, and honey beneath a layer of peat, with hints of salt and coastal bonfire. The palate follows with vanilla, toffee, and fudge before smoke and pepper return in a long, sweet finish with berry notes. Bold and uncompromising, this is Islay whisky that demands engagement.
