Elements of Cask Edit I Love Papa Edition

Elements of Islay is an independent bottler operated by Elixir Distillers, selecting and blending single malts from multiple Islay distilleries. The Cask Edit series explores how different cask types shape the character of these island whiskies. The 'I Love Papa' edition is a limited release celebrating Father's Day, combining refill, bourbon, and sherry casks.

The three-cask approach builds layers: refill casks preserve the pure, smoky core of Islay; bourbon casks add softness and fruit; sherry casks contribute warmth and depth. This is direct whisky—peat and smoke lead, not follow.

On the nose, seaweed, brine, and soft smoke emerge alongside fresh citrus and apple. The palate brings peat to the front, with heavy wood notes and sawdust texture, balanced by stone fruit and maritime salt. The finish is smoky and tarry, lingering with maritime character. This is Islay unadorned: intense, honest, and rooted in the island's peat and sea.
