Highland Park was founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a church official and smuggler who ran an illicit still in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands. This 10 Years Viking Scars carries that legacy forward—its name honours Orkney's Viking heritage, a thread running through Highland Park's entire range.
Matured in American oak casks seasoned with oloroso sherry, the whisky gains subtle fruit and warmth without drowning out the island's signature smoke. This is not a bombastic dram, but a balanced entry point to what Highland Park offers.
The nose is light and floral, with orange and honey notes supported by soft, heathery smoke. The palate brings ginger and citrus forward, with a peppery edge and a hint of medicinal peat. The finish is dry and spicy, smoke lingering as it fades.
