Gouden Carolus Sola Jerez

Sola Jerez was created to mark the third anniversary of Stokerij De Molenberg. The name is a direct reference to the casks: *sola* means 'exclusively' or 'only', while *Jerez* points to the Spanish origin of the oloroso barrels. This is no accident — the sherry maturation is the defining story of this limited release.

The blend composition is striking: 33% comes from first distillates produced in 2010 that matured entirely in Spanish ex-oloroso casks. The remaining 67% comprises trial distillates. This combination yields a light golden colour and a soft, warming finish that clearly reflects the sherry influence.

On the nose, soft stone-fruit notes emerge—apricot, orange, fig, and raisin—followed by subtle spice. The finish is warm and woody, with pleasant persistence that honours the cask character.
